A million euro guesthouse

On the 15th and 16th of February 2011, I was at the Business Bootcamp, one of the stories Nisandeh Nita told us was about a red paperclip. In short: this story was about Kyle, who traded a red paperclip for a house in Canada. This sounds like a fairytale, but I believed it. I looked on the internet and read the story. This got me over the edge to definitely start this project.

I created a crazy idea that also sounds like a fairytale. I want to live in a Villa in Noordwijk, by 1 June 2011. I don’t have money at the moment and I don’t know how I can make this happen. I believe that I can make it happen, with YOUR help. How can I make this happen? What do I need to do? Give a response, even when you think I’m on drugs, let me know!

WHY, do I want this? I had the privilege to travel the world for a year. I was an amazing experience, but I also had really challenging times. I couldn’t have done it without the help of great, inspiring people. They told me to Pay It Forward. Have you seen this movie? It’s about a boy who has to do a project for school. His idea is helping 3 people with a BIG problem, they also help 3 people. This is like a snowball going off the mountain, it starts small, but at the end it’s an avalanche. His idea is creating a better world, by just helping other people.

That’s what I want to achieve with this project. I want to create a home for people who are travelling through Holland. Also for people who want to spend a weekend at the beach and chill out. I don’t want any money for this; I want YOU to pay it forward. Also I want to inspire people to live their dreams.

Most of the people stop dreaming when they grow up, because they have to make money, or have to take care of their family. There’s nothing wrong with this, but don’t forget to follow your dream, how impossible this may seem. There’s always a way. People think you’re crazy, when you’re doing something that isn’t normal. Was Thomas Edison crazy, when he tried 9.999 times to create an electric light ball? I’m glad he was crazy, when I turn on my lights ;-)

How would YOU feel, when you’re living your dream?! I might seem impossible, but so was climbing Everest ones upon a time. Martin Luther King had a dream. Nelson Mandela had a dream, for 27 years, while he was in prison! Think BIG, but don’t expect that you can fulfill your dream tomorrow. Take small steps and whatever happens don’t give up!! The most important thing is the WHY. WHY do you want something?

Like I said, I need your help! In fact: I can’t do this whit out YOUR help! Can you help me with the following questions:

-          How can I life in this villa by 1-6-2011?

-          If you’re going to stay in the villa, what do you want? A punching bag, a special chair?

-          How’re you going to Pay It Forward?

-          What’s your dream?

Thank you for reading this and helping me, send this story to all your friends! If you don’t like this story, tell me why!

Cheers,

Sebastiaan
